permit killing the teen and injuring her four sisters and father near their northeast Ohio home Portage County authorities said No lights gates or special signals mark the crossing where the AH U1V year police recommended object ing to the renewal of Hideaway liquor permit In April council learned Hideaway on Cable Road had 152 calls 38 objectionable in the past year owner and police offi cials disagreed about what kind of communication had happened between the two in the past year and council decided to not object to the renewal to give the bar a chance to address the issues rom March through August Hideway had 21 total calls for service including nine columbus: 3 area counties get infrastructure grants Three local counties will receive a combined $900000 in grant money to fix streets bridges and to make other neighborhood improvements Auglaize County will get $300000 through a Neighborhood Revitalization grant to improve streets sidewalks park facilities and storm water drains in the village of Waynesfield benefiting 787 residents Mercer County will get $300000 through a Critical Infrastructure grant to improve streets in the vil lage of Mendon benefiting 656 residents Van Wert County will get a $300000 Neighborhood Revitalization grant to improve streets a fire sta tion and flood and drain age facilities The project will benefit 583 residents The grant money is through the Ohio Development Services Agency and has been awarded to 23 communities to assist with infrastruc ture improvements There is more than $8 million awarded to Ohio communi ties Safety Services Committee Derrv Glenn nut the issue Council wants to know if the Police Department would recom mend objecting to the renewal of a liquor permit for any of the estab lishments on the list Councilors also said they want police to docu ment communication between the department and bar so that in six months when the city objects to a permit renewal on strong grounds to do so The
